Lithium and helium
Lithium: no USGS mineral site here lists lithium. Of 913 USGS rock samples in the area, 228 were tested for lithium: 205 were below the lab's detection limit and 23 had a measured value, from 9 to 340 ppm. The highest, 340 ppm, is a schist sample collected in 1979 at the south edge of the area. Measured results are split across many rock types and methods, so no rock group has the 20 results the anomaly flag rule needs. No flag is issued.
Helium: the USGS mineral database does not cover gas. Pulsar Helium's Topaz project is in Lake County near Babbitt, with core holes drilled October 2025 to March 2026 and two production ready wells reported (Crux Investor, 2026-06-02; WDIO, 2025-04-23). Exact well locations were not published in these sources, so the circle is approximate.
How to read it
Color is the first critical metal listed for a site, in the order platinum group metals, nickel, cobalt, copper, titanium, gold, then iron. Manganese is listed only together with iron here, so those sites show as iron. A dark ring marks a site that lists two or more critical metals together.
